Oscar Schmidt, right, playing for Brazil’s Olympic team, drove past Scottie Pippen, the Chicago Bulls star who was playing for the U.S. team, in a quarterfinals contest during the 1996 Summer Games in Atlanta. The U.S. team went on to win the gold medal.
